Chantilly Bird is a lingerie and loungewear company owned and operated by women. They design high quality garments in New York City and manufacture their apparel in the USA at a company that is also female owned. They feel strongly about supporting women in all aspects of their lives and believe that manufacturing in the USA will keep the industry thriving while providing new jobs and opportunities.
Chantilly Bird owners and head designers Cynthia Nielsen and Laura Bird are life long friends. They first met their freshman year in high school and have remained close ever since. Both were involved in the arts at an early age. Cynthia attended The Corcoran School of Art and majored in Photography. Professionally, her creative talents drew her to film editing, and after working in the industry, she started her own company called Eye Candy Edit. Laura studied Toy Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and brought her passion for design to The Madame Alexander Doll Company developing new doll fashions for their collection. Following that position, she turned her creativity towards writing and freelance design work.
The two bring different strengths to the partnership. It’s the mix of these talents; the bond of their friendship, and their passion for creating that blossomed into Chantilly Bird.
They are excited and proud to be launching their design company in the spring of 2018 with their first product, Slipsters! They hope you love them.
